RE: T@B Question

Hey here, I have owned my TAB for 3 years now - so far I love it. I don't bang my head on the overhead cabinets when cooking ( I am 5'9" ). I did not buy my TAB for full-timeing - I bough it to replace my 10 year old pop-up. I use it for weekend campouts with my YMCA parent - child group ( YMCA Adventure Guides ). Normally it is only me and my son -- I do have the factory add-a-room for when the whole family comes along. The only thing I would change - is better venting for the fridge. The countertop above the fridge gets HOT. Other than that... the furnace works great!!, it is well insulated, and it is a breeze to tow. Plus the queen size bed is very nice to sprawl out on. I don't baby it - I camp once a month in mostly unimproved campsites. I drag it down dirt roads, fire trails and unmaintained forrest roads. So far everything from below sea level to over 8K feet. A T@B is not for everyone - it fits my needs and I liked the quality & styling. Before I bought my TAB I also looked at the Airstream Bambi -- a very nice TT - but the price was unreal ( $40K ). I also looked at the Casita's - again, a nice TT but the beds were a little small for me. Just my thoughts.... Happy camping!

RE: Best place to purchase Disney Park hopper passes

Hey there, I always use either AAA or getawaytoday.com both have good prices - get away today seems to be a little less expensive most of the time. Good luck & have fun!!!

RE: Largest Bed

Well, My T@B (t-16) with the orig. floorplan has a queen size bed ( 70 x 73 ). Not bad for a small TT. http://tab-rv.com/graphics/specs/mainimage_U.jpg

RE: Chevy Astro Van TV

I had a GMC Safari Van ( same as astro ) with the 4.3 and the factory tow package -- it pulled my trailers fine - no problems at all. Good luck

RE: Cute T@DA by Thor

I own a 05 T@B - built by Dutchman ( same as the T@DA ). I have not seen a T@DA in person but if it is built to the same standards as my T@B then it should last a long time. I use mine once a month with our YMCA Adventure Guides program and I don't baby it - it gets pulled over fire trails and set-up on uneven dirt sites - so far absolutely no problems. The T@B is built under license from Tabbert ( Germany ) - I don't know about the T@DA?? Alot of the T@B parts are imported from Germany ( frame, axle, exterior walls, etc..) the appliances are all USA standard. Also do a search on Yahoo groups - there is a huge T@DA group. Good luck and happy camping!!!! http://farm1.static.flickr.com/47/171572587_e2f74fa394.jpg

RE: Do you add water & chemical to tanks during the drive?

I always a little water & chemical to the tanks before & after a trip. It helps keep the odors down. EDIT - if you are going to use detergent - use the ones designed for dishwashers or a washing machine ( low or no suds ) -- trust me.......

RE: Change oil at 3K miles or by veh. computer ? Revised page 7

I use the on board oil computer - I change oil at about 25%. I use full synthetic oil (recommended by manufacturer) and a good quality oil filter.

RE: T@DA Good SoSo? Avoid?

I own a 2005 T@B - so far it has been the best built TT I have ever owned. I use it once a month with our YMCA Adventure Guides group ( parent / child ) - I do not baby it - I drag it down fire trails, forrest service roads, etc. The T@DA is built by the same company here in the States - Dutchman. I know the T@B is built under license from Tabbert ( Germany ) - I am not sure about the T@DA. If the T@DA is built as well as the T@B - then you will love it. Good luck!!!! http://farm1.static.flickr.com/47/171572587_e2f74fa394.jpg

RE: Headers for a Chevy 6.0L?

You can check here - http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/ It is a GTO forum - they run the ls-2 6.0 V8 --- There are lots of vendors on the site that sell headers & go fast parts ( for all the 6.0 V8's )- and you can ask questions about what works & what does not. I have the ls-2 in my gto and I have the std. 6.0 in my denali Good luck

RE: a (s)chocking tale

It can happen to any of us!! A few years ago - I think it was my first or second campout with the new T@B - I was busy watching the kids, it was semi-dark, and I was unhitching the t@b. I did not notice the slope of the campsite!! As soon as I had the hitch off the ball - it started rolling backwards. I tried to stop it - but it was just too much - I thought I was a gonner - I could just see my new TT scattered down the hillside..... Then I remembered it had an emergency brake ( parking brake ). I threw the lever and it stopped!!! I got a few other dads from the group and we pushed it back into place. Then I chocked the wheels & set the brake..... I have never forgotten to check the slope of a site since!!!! In my opinion all TT's ( all trailers for that matter ) should have a parking brake of some type. I never thought about it until it happened to me , I sure am glad my T@B had one!!! Live & learn

RE: Duramax & Bio-Diesel

There is a local bio-diesel plant here -- according to them if you have been running regular diesel then about a month ( or a few tanks ) after switching to bio-diesel you should replace your fuel filter. According to them the bio-diesel will clean your fuel system out and all the accumulated crud from the reg. diesel will plug your filter -- after the filter change you should be fine and just replace filters as per specs. I have not run any bio-diesel thru my trucks yet - but I am considering it. So far my truck manufacturer has not said you CAN or CAN NOT run it - it is a "try it & see" issue. According to the local dealer if my truck has a fuel related warranty issue AND I am running bio-diesel they will have to check with the manufacturer to see if it voids the warranty. Gotta love the manufacturers....
